This is something special.
Black painted Austrian shell with early three pad liner and WW1 strap.

The decals are placed on top of the black paint.

I did some research on these.

Fact 1 :According to SS steel , the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler wore black paint Austrian shells and often in combination with a Tricolor. (but on the other side)

Fact 2 : The helmets were painted up to the liner so all of them have an unpainted crown like mine.

Fact 3 : These are early decals , the early Pocher style found on early Heer transitional helmets.

I found 2 similar helmets on the GHW2 forum. Same decals , unpainted crown.

Now the questions begs where they used like this for the LAH with the Heer decal or were they transferred to the Heer but then what is the purpose of a black paint Heer ?
