hello everyone,
I’m throwing myself at the mercy of the community on this one. I bought this fully thinking it is original WWII, but once I got it in hand, I’m not so sure. It has a powerful musty smell, the shell is non-magnetic (which I’ve heard is a good thing) and it matches a few later war examples I have seen online. However, it lacks any markings that are commonly seen on other examples. I could really use some helpful tips here, in case I need to return it. I also read that the IDF used a very similar style post-WWII

Hello. My name is Dave Baran. I’m from Quebec - Canada. My grandfather Stanislaw «*Stanley*» Baran emigrated here in Quebec - Canada after the second world war. I’ve sent a request in UK to get military infos on him.

From what I understand, my grandfather was an officer (captain) and seniorshooter (sniper?) for the 1st armored regiment. I read some stuff about this regiment and if I am correct, it’s from the ( I corps polish ).

Most of the documents were in polish. Here is what I’ve got from the translator :

19. Military service:
In Poland: 1 IX 1939 – 19 IX 1939 in 16th Armored Regiment In France: in 16 IV 1940 in Coetg. (Coetguidan)

I would like to understand exactly what my grandfather went thru. Where he has been and what he has done.

And I’m still looking to genealogy stuff.. So!!
