Need help! bomb timer? no1 mkI 12d/660

Has anyone come across one of these before?
seems to some kind of 10hr fuse timer, but could do with a few pointers!

Its marked NoI MKI /l\ 12D/660

Sorry for the poor quality pics, my camera and I are having a few issues!
