real kbar?

I just got back from upstate NY where I purchased a kabar knife. I have been wanting a ww2 kabar for a while, and am wondering if I got a good one. The knife has "USMC" on the one side of the blade, and "KABAR olean ny" on the other. The knife has obviouslty been used, and is in very good but relic condition. The guy I bought it from said that it was recovered from Iwo Jima (yeah, right) and he bought it from the guy who picked it up on the island who followed the front line troops after the island had been won. How can I tell if this baby is real WW2?
