Is my ss m42 helmet real or fake?
I have an origanl D-Day letter that was the one that Eisihower wrote for the troops im woundering what its worth
I "collected" WW2 items as a young kid growing up on listening to first hand accounts. Once in a while vets would give me things.. and sometimes non vets as well. The time didn't last long, I stopped collecting those items through my teen and even college years... now, many years later I am digging through things and it has renewed my interest. Some things may have been given to me because they were known repros... I don't know, it was the 70s and 80's when I got this stuff. Here is one such piece, a SS box, I have no history other than I got it from an old fart here in Wisconsin when I gave him some trade beads that he liked, it wasn't a trade, I gave him somthing and then he gave me two things to show is appreciation I suppose. I am suspicious of both items... so does anybody know anything about this box? Could it be authentic? There are no obvious signs to me one way or the other. It does seem to be in pretty good shape though... any thoughts welcome.
Hi Steve & everyone
Please help to inspect is this medal bar the original WWI one?Does it worth US$300?thanks
PS. the sign of the 25 service medal is covered
the Iron Cross's hook is missing and sewed instead
Iam 99,99% sure that this one is ok, but I would like some opinions to confirm the 0.01% left ;)
After an EXTREMELY disappointing auction loss last night on ebay:weep::weep:, I am trying to find a source where I can find one that is either in solid relic battle damaged condition or semi-relic condition with partial liner showing evidence of battle damage - preferably camo...
Any help finding a source for buying one???
This is the one that slipped away, and is exactly the condition that I am looking for...

Hello,
An elderly friend and neighbour has given me some pictures of his activity during WW2. I've copied, enlarged them for him, and returned his originals and the enlargements . He has told me much about his experiences as a Para and still turns out smartly dressed with his Para tie, blazer, and Beret when necessary. He attends a re-union every year, but as he says "There are less of us each time we go".
I will try and send some of his pictures as I'm sure some members may be interested.
I've tried for a couple of hours now and for some reason cannot upload the images. I will ask one of our moderators for help,
Cheers,
navyman.
