I am still looking for a nice Luftwaffe sword to pick up and came across this one. It is marked with the SMF maker’s mark and was hoping to get some confirmation on what I have been trying to piece together about it. It appears to me to be an early nickel silver example and from what I can tell, appears to be original and in good condition. Does anyone see any red flags that I am missing or have any thoughts they think I should consider? Is the felt and leather carrying case something they originally came with, and any thoughts on its authenticity, if so?
