Documents and corresponding awards all owned by Fritz Lembcke who went missing in battle on 1 February, 1945 around Ratibor (Raciborz) in what is now Southern Poland. These medals are the set he kept at home and like nearly all German soldiers he mailed his documents home via Feldpost. The certificate to Sudetenland Medal was signed by Oberst and Commander Werner Fischer (Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves winner, KIA 1943 in Africa). The certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class was signed by Generalmajor Dr. Friedrich Altrichter (German Cross in Gold winner and famous German military writer).
