Wondering if someone here can help. I recently purchased this coat at a local thrift store. I have only just started collecting German military items, and don’t know very much yet. I have done some searching to see if I can figure out what type of uniform this is, but haven’t come up with much. Not sure that it is even Third Reich, may be later, East or West German. In any case, still want to figure it out.

The sleeves seem to have some heavily faded piping on them at the wrist area Though it looks white, near the seam it isn’t as faded and seems to be a pinkish color. The inside of the coat had some barely discernable markings above the left breast pocket. There is evidence of an eagle patch being removed from over the right breast pocket, as the outline in stitching is still inside.

Thoughts??
