M18 - q66

I haven’t seen many steel helmets in this section for quite a while. I pulled out the M18 box from storage last night. *This one is a fairly well preserved M18, with a clean white doeskin liner that still has 2 of the cushions in the pockets on the rear*of the pads. *The tips of several of the tongues are damaged, and the draw string and chinstrap have been lost to time. *The paint is okay, with some rust/patina to be expected on a 100 year old helmet. *There is a size ink stamp on the rear of the apron. *This*M18 shell was produced by Quist (Ken N. can update the chart on German Helmets Inc. which indicates that Quist only made M16 models). *In my 50+ years of collecting I have only rarely come across Q*M18’s, and consider myself to be lucky to have landed this one, which I have had for about 5 years. *Anyway, here it is, hope you like it. *Jim G.
