M40 ns luft dd

This one was posted on Shea’s site today. The rarity of an NS M40 Luft in a single decal …well I have only seen one other. Add to that a Nat. colors decal…a most unique helmet. Anyone with an opinion on the Nat. color decal ? Factory applied or field applied & if so, for what reason ? Any clues ?
