I have two Erkennungsmarken Totenkopf Panz.Reg.3 ID tags.
I bought the 258 ID tag earlier so it can not be returned.
The 105 ID tag was only delivered recently so I should be able to return it minus return delivery costs and a restocking fee, if I have to.
The first three photos in my post are of tag 105.
The last three photos in my post are of tag 258.
First and foremost I would like the expert forum members to kindly check my photographs to confirm that the tags are indeed original period pieces from WW2 Germany.
I had no idea that ID tags were forged, because I thought there was a plentiful supply of original items.
All photos of tag 105 were supplied by the seller.
The second photo in my post of tag 105 was presumably taken before the seller cleaned it, in order to indicate authenticity.
The last photo in the post of tag 258 was taken by me, whereas the previous two photographs with the measuring tape were supplied by the seller.
Why did the legibility of ID tag 258 degrade so badly compared, to the sellers photographs ?
