Some Inert .303

Hello folks.

Another tidbit for the collection, this one an unlikely eBay find. the listing for these was actually pulled right after they arrived.

I have here a set of twenty .303 British cartridges, inert, reassembled using period-correct projectiles. If you look closely, you can see the rifling marks on some of them. These have the headstamps K, for Kynoch, and ‘RL’ for Woolwich Arsenal. Dates are all pre-war, ranging from 1931 to 1937. The seller stated that a full date rather than the latter two letters indicates Air Ministry use, but I’ve found nothing online to support this.

These are my second batch of .303s, after a bunch of empty casings that forum member Pat was kind enough to send me last year. For free, and from all the way across the pond no less.

The new ones are in varying condition, all unpolished. A nice space filler for the collection, and useful for demonstrating the loading procedure with my deact No4. I’m glad I bought it before they started welding pins across the magazine well!

Regards, B.B.
