Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber - Carl Wild Zinc

Just received this lovely IAB from Carl Wild (CW).

Not rare but a harder to find maker.

It is a massive design but very high quality even though most it is likely a Mid-Late war design given it’s zinc construction.

Carl Wild of Hamburg is classified as an Independent manufacture and it is my understanding that this award is a Type 7.03 (Weber).

From what I can tell it has the first type hinge fitting (the raised base).

According to an old post from our friend Fisher it is a Design Type - Die 1 as the 1R leaf of the Die 1 has a more pronounced top, left vein branching off the center vein and it has an additional vein in the 1L leaf. The maker mark is wider across and has smaller gap between the “C” and “W”.

Would love to hear your thoughts
