Factory paint with Sifted saw dust ?

Gents,

I seem to recall reading in Ice’s book on late war helmets that some late war numbered M42’s got sifted saw dust from the factory instead of oxide. I cannot locate my copy of the book to save my life. Anyone have information on this? I’m thinking they were hkp or ckl? Pictures?
