Hi All - I bought this helmet around 1977 for I think $24.99 or $29.99 - can’t recall. After 35 years or say, I pulled the thing apart (like an ass - broke one of the prongs to the rivets) -

Anywho, the data is thus:

Helmet: SE66
Liner: Schuberthwerk DRP 1940, Braunsweig
Chinstrap: C. Korn, Alzey 1943

My question is what, if anything, I should do to treat the leather? It is getting stiff and such.

Also, is that signature from a soldier in Norway, or a German? Can’t make it out.

BTW, my brother and I added the emblems to the helmet - water based and issued by UI - memories -
