US M3 AP mine
Hi all !!
I have a question about a US M3 AP mine I just picked up . The mine was rusty and dirty and after cleaning it up a little and using a wire brush to clean up the fuze holes I noticed a fine thread and not the standard size for US fuzes . They are a metric size 10X1 extra fine thread . A WWII German ZZ35 fits .
My question is why are these this size and not the standard US fuze size ?
There is what looks to be a white stripe around the center of the mine but no other markings are visible .
Any help would be great !
