Flashed MK1 Brodie - US 104th Regiment
Here is one of the 400,000 WW1 British MK1 Brodie’s issued to the US AEF forces. In this case to a soldier of the 104th Infantry regiment who "flashed" his helmet. Flash is faded and chips but it is still there (a Torch)
Helmet is in decent shape given that it is 100 years old. This saw action for sure with some dents and dings but 95% paint remaining. The chin strap was mostly there but sadly when it was packed something snagged it and it broke.
Stamped H.V. 639. (Maker: Hutton & Sons Ltd of Sheffield and steel supplier: Vickers Ltd of Sheffield. Steel lot # is 639. Brass wire lugs on split rivet bales
The 104th Infantry regiment took part in six major campaigns: Chemin Des Dames, Apremont, Campagne-Marne, Aisne Marne, St. Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne" and experienced some of the heaviest fighting and suffered the greatest number of casualties of the U.S. 26th Division
