Katana weird Kanji (to me)

Hi Guys,

I picked this Katana up today.
I really like the Hamon on it just catches the eye.
The sad part is it has stains and its a little rough.

The Kanji is different, not smooth you can see marks in it (like choppy marks in the characters, not sure how to explain it maybe you guys understand what i’m saying?)
