Period newspaper article about gunto production.
I’ve had this scrapbook for quite a long time now. It cames with a lot of papers, and I never spent to much time on it since I am not able to read Japanese. What interested me was the fact the support used to do it is some kind of aviation book. Obviously dealing with plane making, then comparing somehow Japanese, Germans and US military planes.
I opened it again today and was pleased to find an interesting picture on one of the pages.
My little notions only allowed me to spot the word "Gunto" un the title on the bottom of the picture.
So I don’t know what the guy is doing on them, looks like a bunch of finished type 95 on his right. So maybe his job was to put blades on their koshirae.
Here are some close ups of the text, if someone is willing to help. I hope it says something interesting and maybe de could all learn a couple of thing about them. If not, I am sorry in advance for the waste of time.
Here is the text :
Close up on the picture, minty gunto’s nest !
To Nick if anything could be helpful for your thread feel free to use anything you want. Keeping in mind it could be propaganda only and not facts.
