Need help! 19th century Dutch artillery manuscript in 8 volumes

Again in need of help with my latest find.
Found this 19th century manuscript made apparently by a young officer.
For as far as I can see they are translations of different time publications.
All is done in handwritting and lots of very well drawn illustrations.
Must have been a hell of a job.
He also left blanc pages in order to complete on a later date…
He’s name was S B Ortt, don’t know yet what the "S B" stands for.
But I did find (in local newspapers) that he was a young officer(adelborst 1 klasse) 1873 and sailed with a gouvernemental ship (sort of war ships in the Dutch colony’s)named "Boni".
He was relieved of duties a year later, for reasons I could figure out up to now…did he was like a one year volunteer, did he got injuried or sick???
So if you know something I gladely take any info.

I posted it on several Dutch militaria fora, but got more help on the French fora….:(
