I recently added these to my collection. Although I have nothing else forestry related in my collection, I really liked the appearance of these.
The condition and price were also a factor in acquiring these.
It is believed they were in use as a cap badge until it was replaced by the NSDAP pattern of eagle. This was later replaced by the regular national state eagle. This lion was also seen on forestry buckles.
