US M-1917 A1 “Kelly” helmet
Morning everyone,
this helmet M-1917 A1 "Kelly" has just arrived in my collection.
It is interesting because it is not a shell WW1 reconditioned, but of a new production McCord of the late ’30s, heat stamp "A19"; the chinstrap is the one with the second type buckle.
It has certainly had an operational use, as evidenced by the laundry number: G-3100, marked on the leather liner.
The exterior paint is in perfect condition, while the leather liner has dried up and became very fragile.
I think it’s a good example that I wanted to share with you.:D
