M42 Luft Textured camo

Just received in the mail today. A real one looker beauty of a camo helmet.

Would like to thank the seller for giving me the chance to pick this up as well as our own Heer17 (Neil) who allowed me the use of his photos (which are fantastic) when this helmet was on his shelf a while ago!

The helmet is a very distinctive 3 color camo pattern that is hard to describe. Colors look to be a cream tan, chocolate brown and Black mixed with concrete or sand. Excellent wear patterns as well. There is some rust showing through on the photos but in hand it is all but invisible. As discussed elsewhere it is interesting to see how the soldier painted very carefully around the 2nd Pattern Luft decal until some idiot bumped his elbow and splat!!! Right over the Adlers head!

Specs:

- ET62 with lot number 1550.

- Correct untouched zinc/steel liner band is dated 1940 by Werner Zahn Berlin.

- The sheep skin liner is still in excellent shape and is still soft and the chinstrap is solid and flexible with RBn stamping.

- Chin strap RBn. Nr 0/0750/0100. 0750 is Stuttgart

Hope you enjoy it!!! Definitely my top shelf helmet.

As always double click to see enlarged photos!!!

Regards,

Michael
