British 1939 MK1 Brodie

Picked this up alongside my other Brodies recently, it is to my best knowledge a British made MK1, still with it’s original sponge central pad instead of the more often seen rubber pad. Interestingly, the serial number also seems to be painted on rather than printed. There is also a marking on the liner with the numbers 3 and 6 below an arrow, I don’t know what this represents and have included a photo of it. The helmet has also been personalized by who I assume was the wearer.

Most of it’s paint is intact, and there are some stress ridges along the rim of the shell. I’m very happy with this earlier piece, something a bit different from the usual MK2’s! Still, anyone’s further info on the unidentified marking or on this helmet in general would be appreciated. Have a good one!
