Luftwaffe Breast eagle

Hello All,
although more than likely a familiar eagle to most here is a nicely embroidered great eagle.

It came along with a similar example and a bundle of BeVo stuff.

I am fairly sure that this is original but any comments or opinions are welcomed.

Cheers
Doug

Japanese silk painting

Hello,
Just thought I’d share a piece my granddad brought back with him when he was in Japan in WWII. It is a silk banner with a hand painted tiger on it. I realise it isn’t a military item, I just thought you all might find it interesting.
Thanks for looking,

Important! Please watch out for this man…

I was scrolling through Facebook earlier and noticed a video which seemed to be causing a stir in one of the WW2 Digger groups on Facebook ( cant remember the exact name of the group). It shows the man below, picking up a Soviet WW2 Helmet he had found, smashing it into a tree multiple times, then throwing it away, and then doing it again with another helmet. When questioned about it he didn’t feel like what he did was wrong at all by destroying historical artifacts, his reasoning being they are burnt and rusty. Now I don’t know if this is just me but I am deeply angered by what I have seen, for him and the cameraman to be giggling and destroying what used to be a mans helmet, as well as the fact they are gallivanting around fields with no understanding of the history they dig up, and it worries me a lot to think these men may have found bodies! :o(
Photos have been jumbled up for some reason but they are all screengrabs from the video showing him smashing the helmets against the tree, trying to crush the helmet in his hands, throwing away the helmet and him when he looks at the camera. When I told him I was going to post these pictures on the web he was very smug and told me to ‘Go and play with your dolls’.

Hey all,
I ran across some picture cards that I forgot I had and was wondering if anyone can tell me about them. Picture on front and German writing on the reverse. They aren’t card stock just paper. Here are some examples (sorry for the cell phone pics, I was in a hurry)

for sale large oval Adolf Hitler silver tray by Wellner 82

by: all1knew

Description: Hello all,

Here’s your chance to pick up a gem that just came out of a collection. Here we have a wonderful example of a 21-1/4″ x 14-1/8″ oval tray from Adolf Hitler’s personal pattern. As you can see the silver has tarnished over time and has not been polished. If so desired, these shine up like new. The piece shows some minor surface scratches and dings and was obviously used. Wellner 82 marked on the underside and individually numbered along the outer edge as can be seen in the photos. These look good in any collection. You will not be disappointed.

Help Requsted ti ID a Canadian naval cap PLEASE

Hi, The cap pictured below came into my possession several years ago and to date, I have not been able to identify it. Almost certainly, judging by the manufacturer’s label, it was made in Britain. The embellishment comprises a good quality arc of maple rather than the usual oak or laurel, gold wire embroidered leaves which would indicate Canada? as the country of wear? My guess is that it is possibly a Merchant Marine Captain’s cap for a shipping line such as Canadian Pacific etc. Any information or comments would be appreciated.

With thanks, regards and best wishes Michael Ryan
