Period photo of soldier at the Somme

This is a nice little photo that I really like. It shows a German solider in Ginchy (Somme region) on the 2nd of September 1916, placing this exactly a week before the battle of Ginchy, I wonder what happened to this young lad considering the battle was a British victory, nice piece of visual history!
