More Airbrushing Of History? Braunau am Inn To Get New Car Park.
Well not quite…. But it’s been decided by the Austrian authorities that Hitler’s birth place in Braunau am Inn is to be demolished, the site will then be redeveloped. The plan still has to be formalised in legislation and voted on in the Austrian Parliament. But the Interior Ministry said demolition was recommended by a government appointed commission that included several historians.
With the Social Democratic and People’s Party in the majority, and most opposition parties expected to support the plan, it’s said the demolition was likely no more than a formality.

So, is Austria still in denial about another unsavoury link to it’s nazi past and as such destroying an important and necessary part of history, or taking the correct route by wiping out another link to Hitler and his regime that has become a place of pilgrimage in recent years for neo-nazis and their vile doctrine??
