Description: A lovely ‘been there’ Soldbuch for an infantry officer who served in the Heer from pre-war. It is packed with entries.
Promoted to Leutnant in 1943, he served in a number of Infantry units including Inf.Rgt 169, Inf.Rgt 510, Inf.Rgt 681 and Inf.Rgt 436. His final assignment was to an Army Group B officer ‘pool’ but he was killed in the Ruhr Pocket on 4th April 1945. He is listed in the Volksbund database.
He was decorated with 6 combat awards - EK II & I, Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, Wound Badges in Black & Silver and the Krimschild. The lovely photo in the Soldbuch shows the EK I and the corner of the Krimschild can just be seen on the sleeve. Photo also shows the officer’s unit cyphers on the shoulder board.
