An unusual sight for signail pistol (Austrohungarian)

Hello

Do you ever seen this kond of sight for flare pistol?
My friend told me that is quite rare..and in use in austrohugarian army.
Used the sigth correctly, you could made fire on the target….
Do you have some pictures of the sight in use in WW1 or books about?
