WW1 Officers dagger? From our dad’s estate

Hi All,
We have this dagger from our father’s estate. We have a picture of his grandfather in what we believe to be in his WW1 military uniform. On his hip is a dagger identical to this one. We doubt the dagger we have is the one that belonged to his grandfather. Our dad was a collector of German WW1 & WW2 collectibles. We will be showing some of the swords later. For now, we are hoping the community can help us identify the type of dagger and understand the markings on it. We would also like to find a collector to sell it to, that shares the passion for these items our dad did.

The dagger blade has been painted silver. It looks like he at one point sharped one side at the top. Where the blade meets the handle there is stamped letters have mostly faded out. I can make out the letters “NGUN” or “NGON” and it looks like the numbers “935″. But I could be wrong about these. It’s very hard to tell. There are multiple stamps on the handle that can be easily depicted from the pictures. One that is harder to see in a stamped crown. It measures right at 24″

Hope you all enjoy the pictures and thanks in advance for all the information!
