Gents, just picked up this set of early side caps or shifflen (little boats)…all made between 1966 and 1969, these variations of the overseas cap sported arm of service piping, prior to 1962 they were devoid of this feature, they first appeared in the BW around 1958…returning to a lack of waffenfarbe piping in 1970…they were gradually phased out in the late 1970’s…leaving only the moleskin variety in existence upto the 1990’s…..
