Note - There were other manufacturers, for example bvl marked Bergmann und co. and QVL marked Karl Heisler, Berlin examples. This is a list of the more common producers during the Third Reich period.

The manufacturer’s marks should be present in the following locations -

Centre left (i.e. over the left ear)
Rear (production number should also be present)
During 1942/1943, Qvist moved their maker’s mark to the rear of their helmets.

Production numbers

Generally 3-4 digits, located on the inside at the rear of the helmet.
