3 Allied WW2 Machetes (French, British, US)
from left to right:
1) British Martindale 1945 dated w/ original scabbard $60.00
This machete is British made and probably issued to U.S. soldiers. Many of the U.S. soldiers borrowed the British blades because of a shortage of American machetes. This particular blade is dated 1945, and has the inscription "made in England". It also has the Crocodile registered marking and serial numbered AP-0100. The scabbard is unmarked.
2) US True Temper 1945 dated w/ scabbard $60.00
This machete is one of the famous True Temper blades. I believe these were issued to the marines fighting in the Pacific. The blade is marked True Temper 1945 US. The scabbard is marked U.S. Atlas 1943.
3) WW1 French Coupe Coupe machete w/ original scabbard $60.00
This is a WW1 era machete issued to the French foreign Legion in Africa and Asia and also to infantry units during WW1. This machete was greatly feared by the Germans. It has a full tang and meat cleaver shaped blade with a sturdy wooden handle. The scabbard is stamped "France" on the back.
