i found a nice example of a german fuse on utah beach in a tobruk. i will post pics later but i wanted to see if anyone knew what type it was from just from the numbers….it has J.A 42 at the top (so 1942 dated) and along the right 117 the a little double line mark the 22574 along the bottom. in the middle is BD FUZE with the two drill holes one of which is gone over the E. under the is M 58.

i also found a large heavy shell minus the casing about 8-9 inches long with the fuse missing (possibly fuse beling to it???)

i will also post pics of this shell and 3 morters one with AUF 42 stamp on the heads. these i left as i didnt want to blow myself up
