Need help! 1945 Distinguished Service Medal (but awarded by who ???)

Hi folks, saw this medal in an Antiques shop today, thinking of buying it but im unsure who it was awarded by. Cost is £12.

At the bottom of the medal it says A.A.C (what unit or organisation was this?).
On the reverse side the name on the back is Mrs R Mountain.
