Battlefields on crete?

Hi! Me and my girlfriend just arrived on Crete. I’m looking for old war memorials, battlefields, museums and antique stores and markets that sell items from WW2, also possible digging places would be nice. I am not very well aware of the battle history of Crete. I’m currently staying in the city of Iapetra. Thanks
