Managed to get a pass-out for the afternoon whilst on holiday. Trip to my usual haunts yielded little more than the usual shrapnel but one or two finds were a little moreinteresting. Rounds are German MG 34/42 with the links still in place. Almost certainly from MG pit in front line of US advance into St Lo. Also found a handle off what looks like an Ammo box so am assuming that more digging might have yielded much more by way of unspent ammo. Any ideas on what the sharp dagger like object might be?
