1957 Ritterkreuz - ‘B’ type.
Here is my 1957 version Ritterkreuz. It is a Steinhauer & Luck cross, magnetic core and unmarked.
It has the ‘B’ type core with convex oakleaves, they bulge out from the core. The ‘A’ type has concave oakleaves and look much sharper.
The loop is made from brass or a tombak alloy. The cross has been identified by others more knowledgeable than me as being an early ‘B’ type made during the 1960s because of the magnetic core, later versions were non magnetic.
The frame is nicely struck and there is a small amount of silver frosting left in the recesses.
