Saarland 6-2-2010

Last weekend we went to the Saarland to dig on a new location, US positions on a hill with great view. There was a lot of snow (and some local people who were looking for trouble…) so we went back early. These are our results.

First we found a .30 cal belt with some canvas remains.

Second signal was something larger, our harts jumped when we saw the first glims of the edge.

It has a shrapnell hole underneath the blob on the front side. It is in excellent condition.

Furthermore, from the same hole came an empty M1 carbine magazine.

Sadly we got disturbed by some local town folks who were just out for some action in there small boring village and they had called the police. After some explaning and a good conversation we could leave freely. But fearing the farmers would take matters in there own hands if we would continue, we went back home just in case.
