Colt M1911A1 pistol, Sn. 785826, manufactured in 1942, the gun was shipped by Colt to the Springfield Armoury on June 25 1942.
Inspectors stamp W.B. (Waldemar Broberg Col. US Army) in a box on left frame.
M1A1 carbine, Sn. 123829, Inland manufactured 12-42.
P proof code in a circle on the rear of the stock above the pistol grip by the recoil plate.
On the underside of the pistol grip there is a stamped faint Ordnance crossed cannons escutcheon with an O as in IO for Overton /Inland.
On the inside of the buttplate there is a number cast (not stamped) B257654 followed by a circled asterisk number 10.

Left side of receiver- large US with large Flaming Bomb (Ordnance Mark)
On top of barrel near breech Flaming Bomb and Winchester Proof mark.

Savage (Utica, New York, was the manufacturer of this gun, Savage was a sub-contractor to Auto-Ordnance at Bridgeport, Connecticut)
Sn.-S 432702 manufactured approx. Jan-Feb 1942.

Ordnance Departments Flaming Bomb acceptance stamp, RLB (Col. Roy L. Bowlin was the A.I.O. Ordnance inspector, once the inspectors stamp was stamped on a gun, it became government property),
GEG in a circle ( GEG is for George E. Goll, the AO civilian inspector and former driver for General John T. Thompson) General Thompson occupied a position in the Auto-Ordnance Corporation which today would be termed Chief of Research and Development.
Two WWII marked Inland manufactured M1 carbines, manufactured 7-43 and 12-43.
These two carbines also show post war Bavarian markings i.e., Bavaria Rural Police.
These two guns did double duty during the war.....
and after the war.
