Hi Guys, any idea who the maker is? Cheers, Kurt
Nazi Third Reich Army Officer's Sword
Original Engraving with the Owners Monogram
Lion head pattern with ruby red eyes
Fine F.W. Holler firm manufactured German Third Reich Army Officer's sword from WWII. It bears the "thermometer in a double oval" trade mark of F.W. Holler on the riccaso under the langet. This is an Army Officer's sword by a good sword maker. All of the furniture retains fine detail and is in good condition. There is no evidence of gold wash or silver wash on the hardware. The finish appears to be aluminum and absolutely original. The ruby red eyes of the lion head are fully intact. The owners initials of "FE" are engraved on the langet. It goes without saying that such engraving is highly desirable. This is a absolutely gorgeous sword and should be in a the hands of a top level collector. The blade is 32 inches long and in great condition. The original scabbard is included.
Nazi Third Reich SS / Army Officer's Sword
Prinz Eugen by Carl Eickhorn
Fine German SS / Army Officer's Sword from WWII. It bears the trade mark of Carl Eickhorn on the riccaso under the langet. Note the distinctive eagle at the cross guard and the eagle on the pommel. This is the rare "Prinz Eugen" by Carl Eickhorn (Model 1765). This model sword was also utilized by the Waffen - SS. Found on page 147 of "Collecting The edged Weapons of the Third Reich" Vol... # 1 By Ltc. Thomas M Johnson. Also "Swords of Hitler's Third Reich" By Major John R. Angolia, chapters, #4, #5 Heer (The Army) He states as follows: "Army Saber manufactured by the Eickhorn firm, designated Model No.1765, and the name "Prinz Eugen". The name is taken from Prince Eugen of Savor (1693-1736), who was born is Paris, but served with the Austrian army at the defense of the Rhine against the French in 1693. The finial of the hilt bears a Wehmacht eagle and swastika. Although an Army pattern sword, this model was also favored by the Waffen-SS. (See SS section). Hoffman collection, National Archives, A Waffen-SS officer wearing the Army pattern sword "Prinz Eugen", with the SS Portepee knot. The wearing of Army pattern weapons was not officially recognized for SS units, however, as this unique illustration proves, it did occur. Most probably officers of the SS Division Prinz Eugen gained permission for their officers to officially wear the sword pattern "Prinz Eugen" as it lauded the name of the Divisions' namesake."
Overall, this Prinz Eugen is in great condition. There is gilding loss to the grip ( see photos ) Otherwise, it is in about as fine condition as one could hope to find. The 32 inch blade is in excellent condition ( no chips or dings ) and the original scabbard is present. It should be noted that The Carl Eickhorn of Sollingen, Germany was arguably the best maker of edged weapons of this period. Here is an exciting opportunity for a top level collector. 3 Day Inspection - Questions are welcome.
I want to show you a matchbox i recently acquired.
I think it is silver and the top has an area supposed to strike matches on, but the friction is long gone in the material.
It has the finnish lion, but I am not sure if the lion is applied later.
A russian friend says the design is similar to german match boxes he found when digging in russia.
This one has very little stamps in the bottom.
Has anyone seen these before, any information someone?
Big thanks in advance

Guys,
A tin box with crows foot (bottom center), when opened revealed these bottles? There's writing on the bottles but I can't make it out. Any ideas?
