Amazingly, I posted these 2 pairs of boots on another forum and nobody commented.
These went on ebay de a couple of weeks ago.
They have some familiar details but in the end I wasn't convinced and didn't bid on them
Anyway, I still would like to have your opinions
I recently purchased this. I believe it is a shoulder eagle but cannot seem to find any info on it (what branch used these, was it for a dress uniform, etc...). If anyone can help me with any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i went along to tolcarne cottage today.tolcarne was an embarkement beach mainly for hardware heading for omaha beach.its long concrete road snakes through the trees, past foundations of nissen huts and latrines used by us forces past the sentry post and then this massive concreted area dominates the shore line.being a little inquisative i thought about looking on the shoreline for anything of interest, then i saw something that caught my eye.where the site was leveled its clear to see the make up beneath,a mish mash of metal mainly cable some other interesting objects that may be worth another look, also a tyre some green fabric and then this, stamped L C 1943.
it must surely mean that all the other items caught up in the make up are of the same period..........wow!
Is there anything wrong with this rifle? I am not sure but it looks ok.
The serial number near the date looks like it matches the but-plate, but why does it look like a k98 russian capture, etched- number? (the same thing on the floor plate)
(why are the serial numbers etched and not stamped into the metal)
Many Thanks
(I have never had a ww2 russian gun)

I went last week at a thrift store to drop some bag of clothes and as i was leaving the store i saw this huge poster with this heavy metal frame who caught my eyes . The picture definitively was talking to me ( not in a way that it is worth million and is something rare) .My question is what uniform this soldier is wearing ? i know for sure it's post war but on witch side is he ? east or west . i included some pic i took of it it's printed on heavy cardboard .i paid 7$ and for some reason i love the story that it tell.
Thanks in advance

My neighbor was a ww2 pilot who flew Piper L4 grasshopper
for Gen. Patton. He was part of Patton's headquarters staff
and took Patton up on many occassions. He does not talk much
about his experiences but has shared some stories and a few pictures with me.
Here he is with his dog Mac starting his plane.
