Need help! Picked up my very first helmet today and I’d love opinions (M42)

Good morning/afternoon,

I’m new to the world of steel helmets but I decided to do some research and then go out and find a period piece. I picked up this helmet yesterday and I believe it to be a period M42 single decal, although it is in somewhat rough shape I enjoy the rougher look. The decal appears to me to be correctly applied and shows wear consistent with the rest of the helmet. The remnants of the liner are still in the helmet and it also had a batch number of what I think says 3081 with a partial text above it that I can only make out a 6. This is located on the rear of the helmet.

I’d like more experienced opinions as to if this is an original piece and your thoughts on the helmet as a whole, thanks!

Help finding an SA dagger

Hi guys, I’ve always wanted to have an SA dagger in my collection. I have a wide range of items in my collection and don’t have any specialist knowledge of daggers.

I have done some research, and spent quite a long time searching but cannot seem to find one for sale that looks like good value.

Hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction to a nice SA dagger? In the U.K. preferably but not essential.

Cheers guys, Jim

Rank Star Question

Hello all, I am asking this on behalf of a friend of Polish background who is researching his ancestors and their military service. Many thanks in advance cool militaria,
Regards, Tony

In order to date this photograph I would like to identify my uncle’s rank at that time. In 1915 he was 21 years old. From his military records I know this:
Sept 16, 1915 drafted as a Einjahrig-Freiwilliger
Nov. 20, 1915 promoted Korporal (2 white stars on collar?)
Jan. 1, 1916 promoted feldwebel (Master-Sergeant: 3 white stars on collar?)
Nov. 1, 1916 appointed Res. Fahnrich (Reserve? Ensign/Cadet) (1 silver star on "fancy’ collar?)
Feb. 1, 1917 appointed Res. Leutnant (Reserve? Lieutenant) (1 silver or gold star on plain collar?)
The stars on the collars came from my interpretation of this web site: Badges of Rank of the Austro-Hungarian Army 1914-1918

How does one determine if the star is silver or white in a black and white photo? Any help is appreciated.

Signed hitler christmas card?

Any thoughts on this? It is up for auction by Affiliated Auctions and Realty, LLC. I am always suspicious of stuff like this. Has anyone else seen similar greeting cards like this? Would appreciate feedback. Also interesting they are only estimatin 700-$1000 for this item. Usually AUTHENTIC hitler signatures go for thousands.
