Thank to the welcome me, and sorry to introduce lately myself

Hello misters and thank you very much for your welcome.

I do not know where to add this post, so I send it here?

Please excuse my impoliteness, rude behaviour for not having answer you quikly and not introduce myself.

As I am retired now and have time for myself, I go back to my old hobby, collecting WW2 Waffen SS, Polizei and SD items, and what a surprise to discover that must of the well known German WW2 salers from all over the world are saling fake.

I consult multiple forums and found yours’ WAR RELICS a good mean to help collectors.
_I wish just to help people to avoid to be lurk by the squales of Reich uniforms salers.

I had the chance to be born in France in WW1 and WW2 battlefields, and got the opportunities to find relics.
Fascinated by waffen-SS (not anymore today with age and knowledge of their behaviour and the preciosity of life) and britisch paratrooper (still in respect for them) I begun to collect items from different dealers in the 70′.
_I had the opportunity from 1978 till 1982 to visit german vets’ Tavern meeting where I was not welcome at start but my brief freundin/ german school pen friend’s father was an old danish Freiw. Kriegsmarine seaman, and his wife mother an SS-Helferin…(his wife _pen friend’s mother _was 18 years younger then him but less men on the market).
I did not understood everything all this people explain to me, and now with age I forgot a lot but some stories they told are still in my mind, and some gifts in my boxes.

During the Reagan area, Mister Coleman should remind this time*, in the U.S.A, and Belgium, man could trade or buy to the biggest military dealers, with already a lot of fakes especialy upon Britisch commando and paratroopers….So I stop collecting Britisch.
* globe Militaria INC.; Liege surplus…

Then in the early 90′ I sold most of my collections, moving all over the world.

about that I bought in germany in 1978 a bunch of SS field jackets, last model, with may be something like 55% ersatz stoff, 25% old wool, 20%wool, italian fabric lining, unfinished=no pockets, SS and measures stamps take out= I mean cut, and Bundeswehr jackets.
Back home, on of my friend’s mother sawed the BW pockets onto the original unfinished SS jackets for us to play war (I know now it was stupid but at my teenager eyes they have no value as it was impossible to find the same tissu, please no comment, I am still bad with this) and sold them finally in the early 80′ for nothing….
_what was not a surprise a couple of weeks ago to find in some dealer’s stock some of them, with the BW pockets of course, sold as “last days of war original” SS combat jacket with new Stamps.
This is a real story!!

I spend years of studying german insignias and uniform’s making, reading a lot of originals books, newspaper, scientific journal.. watch carefully photos, and dismantle many of them when they were tore, stripped off, rotten…in the 80′ such items have no value, no one sold digged off rotten items, now they do with “battle field” increasing plus. These were trash, junk parts before.

After that I tried to collect the german’s means of production, just keeping small items for a small appartments.

So I decide to join your forum to give some help, with my poor knowledge, for collectors to learn good at first time and not to be cheated…I do not sell anything, I am not a german items dealer and I am not a great Gourou send to the earth to get followers.
_ But I found into forum some inaccuracy upon SS items authenticity by some members, like the Polizeibahnschutze arm eagle said to be genuine SS-VT (unless someone can show that the SS wear it), and some advices like “SS jackets from 1936 to 1945 have always 2 hooks-holes”.

Sorry if I blame this persons, but these errors will be read by other collectors, and that will do “boule de neige”, like the SS-helferinnen never wear tie “due to SS aryan way in considering the feminity and the way to dress.”

I am sure I will hurt many mind, but if you moderator and contributors think I am a troublemaker, I will resigned quickly.

Whatever, accept my apologies for not having present myself, and for the poor english.

Why would this dagger be questionable?

This one has just been sold by one of the big dealers for 6.795 usd, well for that price someone would expect a top of the bill dagger.
Still i have seen just as many questionable issues as there are parts..
Please gents shoot ahead and tell me your thoughts, at the end i will add my 2 cents :)
But boy am i glad that those dollars aint mine!

Need help! Last authentication, Luftwaffe Panzer goring division side cap?

My research lead me to believe it might be a Luftwaffe goring division or something? I have my doubts about this one but figured why not, it’s only money… :) I haven’t seen one before so took a shot in the dark! First side cap keeping my fingers crossed!

Need help! Another Gamble! Luftwaffe Fire Brigade hat????

Purchased this cap as well with a gold DAF cap wreath and eagle that was on it which I thought was unusual. Would like to see if this cap passes your test. Inside is a little beat but the outside looks good for the price I paid. Carl Wagner? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!113490211349031134904113490511349061134907
