Approve me Hello

Hello from Spain,

I collect several items(police hats, star wars…),among them III Reich items. As this theme is nowadays full of fakes, I would like to join this forum to learn about it.

I attach a pair of photos with some of the items I have got.

Named Kelly Helmet

Hello everyone! I just want to share a helmet I got at the SOS and ask a couple of questions.
For $100, I was able to pick up this Kelly helmet. The original owner left his name (Tom Strelecki) and service number (3302433) on the liner. He also scratched his name into the shell. After doing some research, I was able to find out that his name was Thomas Michael Strelecki and that he was drafted in 1941. Now here’s two of my questions. First off, what does the giant D111 mark mean? And secondly, would this helmet still be considered an m1917a1 because this is one of British manufactured helmets use by America. The terminology confuses me and I am not too sure if only the American made helmets (Both refurbed ww1 and 1930s) were considered to be m1917a1’s.

And for my last question, is this chinstrap normal? Rather than having the metal restraining piece at the end of the chinstrap, there is just a material loop to hold back any excess material. Was this a common thing, because I haven’t been able to find any other examples online.

Thanks for reading and I would love any thoughts for the questions asked!

120mm Volksgrenadier (Tamiya Kit)

Hello,
Here is a small winter scene I built and painted some time ago. It’s a late war Volksgrenadier (120mm) from Tamiya. I think it came out pretty good.

Regards,
Jody

Hessian M15 Pickelhaube from the Show of Shows 2020

Hello,

Here’s my modest acquisition from the recent Show of Shows, a nice Hessian Model 1915 Helmet with the correct issue marking "R.B.A. 18" stamped inside. I’ve been looking for one of these for a very long time. These "R.B.A. 18" Depot Issued helmets are often found with the round spike base, and the regular, smooth spike, instead of the Fluted Hessian Spike and Hessian cloverleaf spike base on the helmets. They’re seen configured this way in wartime photos as well.

The seller’s collector father replaced the metal front visor trim a long time ago, and did a nice job on it.

After I got home, I added the chinstrap, original National Colors Kokarde, and the Repro Hessian Kokarde (until I can find an original Hessian Kokarde).

There are No extra holes behind the front plate, only the 2-original metal grommet ring holes. One loop is broken off from the back side of the front plate, and the loop is unfortunately missing.

The maker mark is hard to read, but I believe the helmet was made by "LEDERFABRIK BONAMES, JACOB D. MAYER & CO., 1915".

Best Regards,

Alan

Gunshop today FN 1922,need opinions

Bought this today at gunshow, pistol ,2 mags and holster, waffen marked, after some trading have 400,00 in it.Does everything look good, grips? mags? I believe holster is post war, pistol and mags fit it well though. There is a small dent on front of slide, see last pic, dont think that will hurt it?No import marks so probably a bringback, too bad it didn’t come with an original holster, must have been lost or someone added extra mag and holster, who knows.
