I have acquired a pile of helmet nets a short while ago, as far as I know they’re all British except maybe the one with the different weave, but
maybe someone here sees any different ones from other commonwealth states?
I know of the early and late British weave and the 2 types of Canadian 2-tone nets, but any nets from other CW states just look like random
British-type to me.

The other gear in the first pics is not relevant, those just came in on the same day as that net.

I’m planning to buy this curious brass made helmet from my local flea market. :p
And after some research, i still cant decide whether this helmet original or not. The liner especially the bolt is a bit crude. :confused:

So my question is, is this original made british household cavalry? If it’s true, from what age this helmet was made.

And from some reason i can’t edit these photos in my computer after i sent it from my cellphone. I can’t rotate it. So please pardon for the inconvenience.

Gents,

Another facet of my collecting interest with Imperial Iron Crosses is obtaining the "been there" crosses. What I mean by this are the crosses that exhibit the worn in battle potential and that are dark, less than perfect condition and filled with character. Also, many have have tattered ribbons that could be filled with Eastern or Western front mud. Your mind tends to wander a little more to how these were obtained. Potential battlefield pickups? Who knows….

Here is potentially one such cross.
