This one has not been cleaned,at least by me,vet bringback,markings and motto are crisp.Has some "in and out"marks from scabbard but other than that pretty nice.Would those polish out or should I leave it alone?

Men of the 65. SS-Standarte Schwarzwald wearing the ultra rare SS Kraetzchen with second pattern Totenschaedel. Possibly the only photograph in existence that show Allgemeine SS wearing this first SS field cap. This photo also shows that Officers wore the same type of cap. The two men on either side without jackets appear to be wearing SA style belt buckles. Freikorps medal and Gau badges are being worn. Sign says "Alte Garde Reserve hat Ruh 1929-34." Perhaps this photo is of the newly created Reserve Sturmbann in 1934, hence "Reserve hat Ruh" ? The "Alte Garde" might equate to "Alter Kampfer" which was used for members that joined prior to 1930.

Hello all, a good friend of mine passed away a year ago and the widow wants me to sell some of the helmet collection accumulated over the last 30 years. The note in this one states it was purchased from Manion’s. I vaguely remember several of these single decal EF M42 Kriegsmarine helmets being sold at the same time from Manion’s. If I remember right a small cache had been found. The paint is nicer on the outside than on the inside and the decal does not look right in my eye, but I have limited experience with Kriegsmarine helmets. Could it be a re-issue or just another flounder that slipped passed Manion’s experts?
