Ss ef m42 #1782

Folks,

This is my latest pickup - SS EF M42 with Lot #1782. I actually secured this right at the start of the year but it got held up in customs for a while.

First off, a big thankyou to David (real steel) who not only personally helped me find an SS helmet but also generously provided a chin strap to complete the look - a true gentleman i think you will agree.
I’d also like to thank Frank, Michael, Jim, Leon, Dan, Mark, Terry, Blackcat and all the other good people who contribute to the helmet forum.
With your help and my own research i’ve learnt a lot.

Many weekends of overtime over the last few months to save up for this one and i had to give up most of my Friday night curry’s (if you are not for the UK, believe me this is a BIG sacrifice). It looks awesome on my shelving alongside my Luftwaffe M35 and Heer M42. I debated whether to place the chin strap on the front lip of the helmet, but i did not need to use any force and it was already moulded to this shape.

I hope you like.
Kind Regards,
Nick
