Hi all

As I am just starting collecting I am most likely going to buy at auction as my local auction house always seems to have militaria in his sale. Just wondering how many others buy at auction and if you have any tips for buying. Any do’s and dont’s? Anything to be careful about?
I know to always add commission and to only buy what I really want, but interested in what others have to say.

Happy Easter all. I picked this 1853 Enfield bayonet up yesterday and I can’t find any info out on the marks. The LH in particular, I’m aware it’s possibly a regimental mark or makers mark but I can’t find any info on them.

Can any of you more bayonet savvy folk help please?

I picked up this Ike Jacket at a big flea market yesterday. At first it caught my eye as simply a standard Ike jacket; however, with further inspection I found that this jacket was dated June 6, 1944. I just wanted to share it here as I love the fact that it is dated to a historically significant date cool militaria

I stumbled across this M43 Field Jacket on eBay earlier today, it has a 101st airborne patch as well as a US flag patch. I believe the M43 Jacket is original; however, I have my suspensions about the US flag patch and perhaps if the 101st patch was added post-war? Any opinions on this would be much appreciated, it looks like there was an additional patch underneath the flag patch but I’m not sure what the patch would’ve been. Any help or info is always appreciated!
