Good evening Gents.

I couldn’t resist buying this plate , apparently given to friends and supporters of the 79th infanterie division at christmas 1939 , i have read about the fierce 79th infanterie fighting at Stalingrad , and thought that this plate would make a nice display piece and talking point in my collection. It really grabbed my attention. Thank you Gentlemen.

Evening everyone,

I finally got round to trying to identify this ostmedaille I got a while ago. It came with a packet, which I found almost impossible to read, but it looks like it must be by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann (going by the shape).

I was trying to tell if the medal itself is original to the packet, and to my very inexperienced eye it looks like it is, though I’m hoping someone with more experience could verify this.

I just got this helmet. Originally a German M16 helmet, maker Eisenhuette Silesia, size 66. The liner is presumably M18 model and chinstrap a replacement? The unit is marked inside the helmet, it’s possible that this was already in the Winter War. The three chevrons either represent a sergeant or is a unit marking.
